  • Is a practising Catholic Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher with a passion for pastoral care and has vision and commitment in driving forward the School’s distinctive Catholic ethos.

  • Has a proven track record of successful leadership, management and school improvement.

  • Provides expertise in primary practice and curriculum development.

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills

  • Is resilient and able to respond and adapt effectively to changing circumstances maintaining high levels of performance.

  • Is organised and forward thinking, having the vision, drive and energy to initiate, lead and manage strategies to build on the current successes and achievements of the School.

  • Supports and challenges staff to continue to advance the high quality teaching and learning of the school.

MPR/UPR + SEN Allowance

0.8 FTE or full time

 

 

The Governors of St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School wish to appoint an experienced SENCO, or an excellent practitioner with relevant primary experience who is willing to undertake the accredited SENCO qualification starting September 2025 or earlier.  

 

Expectations for the successful candidate:

  • Able to demonstrate a clear commitment to securing outstanding provision for all pupils within the school.

  • Highly motivated and able to manage own workload while leading others

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.  Keep leaders and governors informed of any updates that may affect the school and our priorities.

  • A team player, committed to working with staff and parents in support of the pupils

  • A practising Catholic or willing to uphold the Catholic ethos of the school.

  • High expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour.

 

SENCO role at St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School

  • The SENCO will be responsible for managing and leading SEND provision throughout the school, monitoring the progress of pupils and the impact of the provision to ensure that children’s needs are being met.  The SENCO leads our team of support staff and provides training updates for them and teaching staff when required.

  • The role is non class based.

  • The SENCO has a key role within our pastoral team – liaising with parents and other stakeholders.  Liaising with incoming parents and other settings is a key part of the role.

  • The SENCO dependent on experience may become part of the Senior Management Team, helping shape priorities for our school.

  • The SENCO will undertake safeguarding training and support the DSL.

Teacher - KS2 Maths Subject Leader

Required for September 2025

 

The Governors of St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School wish to appoint an experienced teacher to lead Maths across Key Stage 2. The job will involve working closely with the head teacher, senior leadership team, staff, parents, and governors to help strengthen and further develop the teaching, learning and pupil outcomes and engagement in maths across the school. The role is class-based and is expected to start in September 2025 (year group to be negotiated).

 

We are looking for a Maths Leader who is:

  • an excellent primary practitioner, committed to raising achievement for all

  • passionate about teaching and learning of Maths and has a strong subject knowledge

  • able to model and develop high quality teaching

  • able to use assessment effectively to raise standards

  • able to effectively work as part of a team

  • committed to making a difference for our children and our community
